MAST CHOCOLATE, the Brooklyn-based chocolate company founded by brothers Rick and Michael Mast, opened a stunning new bean-to-bar flagship chocolate factory, brewery, and store on Saturday May 7th, the first of its kind in Los Angeles. The nearly 6,000-square foot space is the company’s largest flagship, opened in the vibrant Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. Visitors are able to view the entire chocolate making and brewing process while enjoying signature chocolate bars, pastries, beverages, and confections paired with locally-sourced ingredients.

After opening in Williamsburg in 2009 and in Shoreditch last year, MAST is excited to expand to Los Angeles and join its fantastic culinary and creative communities. Since starting MAST, co- founder Rick Mast has wanted to make chocolate in Los Angeles. Rick says, “L.A. might be my favorite place on earth. I used to live here and am thrilled to be back with many of my closest friends. The creative communities in the Arts District are extremely inspiring, and we look forward to being a part of it through partnerships and collaborations with locally based companies across the arts, culinary, and hospitality sectors. There are over 30 local businesses in LA who sell our chocolate made in Brooklyn, and we can’t wait to make chocolate from scratch in Los Angeles for Los Angeles. It’s going to be a blast.”
Rick and Michael Mast are the founders, owners, and master chocolate makers of MAST.
